Water Purification Wing

Our Reverse Osmosis (RO) water purification plants are engineered to deliver high-quality potable water in areas affected by fluoride contamination and inadequate water infrastructure. Using multistage filtration technology, the plants remove dissolved solids, pollutants, and pathogens, producing water that meets international drinking standards. In collaboration with our dedicated team in India, Echoes of India oversees installation, community training, and ongoing maintenance—ensuring each plant functions as a self-sustaining, long-term solution for clean drinking water.

From the Founder, Pranamya Suri

In 2010, I established a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the goal of eradicating the severe health and economic challenges caused by fluoride-contaminated groundwater in the tribal district of Nalgonda, Andhra Pradesh, India. It is astounding that in the 21st century, access to potable water remains a crisis in an industrialized nation like India. For more than seven decades, thousands of tribal families in South India have suffered devastating skeletal deformities and unimaginable poverty due to drinking water contaminated with fluoride and heavy metals.

Like many, I was aware of the issue in passing. But because these regions were remote and underreported, I had never fully understood its scale. Once I witnessed the magnitude of suffering and neglect firsthand, I was determined to act.

My father and I began our work in 2009, devoting countless hours to understanding the scientific, logistical, and social dimensions of the crisis. After extensive research, we developed a plan to install Reverse Osmosis (RO) water purification plants in affected villages—systems capable of filtering contaminated groundwater and providing clean, safe drinking water for generations. Together with a manufacturer, we gathered the necessary data, tested water sources, designed storage and distribution systems, and created a community-operated business model that allowed each plant to be fully self-sustaining. This simple yet powerful model enabled us to replicate the solution across multiple villages.

Alongside this technical work, I reached out to hundreds of supporters, organized fundraisers, and built a team both locally and internationally. My father’s unwavering involvement—whether coordinating remotely or working in the field—was instrumental in ensuring that every detail was executed effectively.

Our story soon captured media attention, giving us a platform to share our mission with a global audience. With growing momentum and worldwide support, we installed additional RO plants in remote, underserved communities, providing pure drinking water to thousands of villagers. In these regions, the long-standing cycle of deformity, disease, and poverty has been broken—giving rise to healthier and more hopeful futures.

To date, 23 Reverse Osmosis plants have been established, serving over 100,000 villagers and transforming entire communities.

Current Projects

Our current project is raising funds to install an RO plant and restore the pushkarini (water tank) of the Kāzhīsīrama Viṇṇagaram (also known as Tādālan Koil), a Divya Deśam of Trivikrama, in Śīrkāzhi, Tamil Nadu, India. We are doing this project in collaboration with Vishnu Global (http://www.vishnuglobal.org).
