The Pandemic Paradox
COVID-19 closed our stages — and opened a window we had never thought to look through. With no venue capacity constraint, our viewership grew from hundreds to thousands. Families in Hyderabad watched the same performance as families in Frisco. Grandparents in villages saw their grandchildren dance for the first time.
We have incorporated a permanent digital strand into our programming ever since. Every in-person performance now has a live or recorded stream. The lesson was costly, but the gift was irreversible.
